Under what conditions do you dismiss a patient?

We are a specialty practice, and we have to dismiss patients who always want to resolve their primary care issues with us. Also, once we had to dismiss a patient who was very disrespectful and mean.

We discharge for non-payment of bills, especially when we are sending the patient to collection.  We discharge for non-compliance to physician's treatment plan and not coming in for follow-up visits.   We discharge when the patient has three no-shows and/or last minute cancellations.  We discharge those who are drug seekers.  And, we will discharge a patient who is abusive toward our staff and physicians.
